ggGIF is a free, lightweight desktop utility for Windows 10 and 11. It operates unobtrusively in your system tray, continuously capturing short instant-replay clips that are immediately ready to paste via Ctrl+V.
Please note that ggGIF is actively developed. Certain versions—including test or beta builds—may contain bugs, incomplete features, or unexpected behavior. Always refer to the build notes provided at download for the current state of the software.
ggGIF processes video and image data entirely locally on your machine, never on a remote server. Consequently, performance depends strictly on your device's available memory (RAM) and processing power. Attempting to capture or process large files on devices with limited hardware resources may cause the application or your system to slow down, freeze, or crash.
IMPORTANT: Do not run ggGIF as an Administrator. Because ggGIF is a background screen capture utility, running it with elevated privileges may cause competitive anti-cheat systems (such as FACEIT, VAC, Vanguard, or Easy Anti-Cheat) to misinterpret the application as an unauthorized memory hook, cheat, or malicious overlay. Always run ggGIF as a standard user to avoid launch conflicts and prevent false-positive account bans.
