This Privacy Policy explains how data is handled by the ggGIF desktop application and by this website.

▸ THE APP

ggGIF runs locally on your Windows 10 or 11 PC, operating unobtrusively in your system tray. It operates entirely offline and requires no account, sign-in, or internet connection.

• Local Processing: All recording, frame capture, and encoding happen locally within your local system memory.
• No Disk Storage: Nothing is permanently saved to your hard drive by default — clips exist only until you paste them.
• Zero Network Calls: The application makes zero outbound network requests. It never transmits clips, screen content, or usage data to us or any third party.

Because your screen captures never leave your machine, we have no ability to view, collect, or store any of your recorded media.

▸ DATA COLLECTION & PRIVACY

ggGIF is a privacy-first, client-side application. We do not collect, process, store, or sell your personal files or usage data. What happens on your computer stays on your computer.

▸ THIS WEBSITE

This website is a static landing page designed to be minimal and privacy-conscious. It uses only two lightweight third-party resources:

• Google Fonts: Used to load retro typography. Fetching fonts may expose your IP address to Google per Google's Privacy Policy.
• Abacus Counter: An anonymous visitor counter that increments a simple numeric count on page load. It does not identify visitors, place tracking cookies, or build user profiles.

This site does not set tracking cookies, run analytics scripts, or use advertising pixels.
